Tina Turner to Celebrate Final Year of Wachovia Spectrum on November 29

Eight-time Grammy Award winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tina Turner will help celebrate the final season of the Wachovia Spectrum on Saturday, November 29 at 8 p.m. as part of her 2008 North American tour, presented by Amway Global. Turner is one of the many legendary performers to entertain in the Spectrum with four prior concerts in the famed arena’s including shows on June 11, 1971, May 30, 1984, July 31, 1985, and August 25, 1987.

Comcast-Spectacor is closing the 42-year-old Wachovia Spectrum at the conclusion of the 2008-09 Philadelphia Phantoms and Philadelphia Kixx hockey and soccer seasons. The company is encouraging residents throughout the Greater Philadelphia Region to celebrate the many wonderful memories of the Spectrum.

Tickets to see Turner at the Wachovia Spectrum priced at $29.50, $69.50, $85, and $178 will go on sale on Monday, September 15 at 10 a.m. exclusively ComcastTIX.com, 1-800-298-4200, the Wachovia Complex Box Office, and select ACME locations. Turner’s brand new stage show - her first in eight years - will feature hit after hit spanning her entire career, with a spectacular production including a top-notch band, innovative choreography, hi-tech lighting, and much more.

One Last Time, the tour DVD of that elaborate, pyrotechnics-filled production, was certified platinum in the U.S. Turner is the most successful female rock artist of all time with record sales exceeding 180 million.

With sensual, soulful, and powerful vocals that have been part of music history for over four decades, the singer’s explosive live set will include everything from early career singles “River Deep Mountain High,” “Proud Mary,” and “Nutbush City Limits” through solo superstar smashes “Let’s Stay Together,” “What’s Love Got to Do With It”, “We Don’t Need Another Hero,” and “The Best” - as well as ‘90s comeback hits such as “I Don’t Wanna Fight” the theme song to the James Bond film “Goldeneye”.
