Villanova to Play Record Six Games at Wachovia Center in 07-08

Villanova University Men’s Basketball Team will play a record number of games (six) for any collegiate team in one season at the Wachovia Center in 2007-08. The Wildcats will play the Preseason Classic against Bloomsburg on Tuesday, November 6, four regular season Big East match ups, and an ESPN showdown against LSU in the Pizza Hut Big East/SEC Invitational.

“With five home games in the Wachovia Center plus the Invitational against LSU, we are trilled to have Villanova University make South Philadelphia their home for a significant part of their season,” said Global Spectrum’s Tim Murphy, General Manager of the Wachovia Complex. “Villanova has a very strong history of remarkable games and record-breaking crowds at the Wachovia Center. We look for more history to be made this year as they face some of the country’s best college basketball programs.”

The Five-Game Nova Pack, which includes the Big East games and the Preseason Classic against Bloomsburg, priced at $100 for the package, includes five games for the price of four. The special package will go on sale this Friday, October 19 at 10 a.m. via ComcastTIX.com, 1-800-298-4200, Wachovia Center Box Office, and select ACME markets.

Tickets to the Pizza Hut Big East/SEC Invitational, featuring South Carolina vs Providence and Villanova vs LSU, on Thursday, December 6, are not included in the Five-Game Nova Pack. They are sold separately via ComcastTIX for $25, $35, and $65.

“It’s a thrill for our players and coaches every time we walk on to the floor for a game at the Wachovia Center,” stated Villanova head coach Jay Wright. “With our students in both end zones and sellout crowds it has become one of the greatest college basketball atmospheres in the country.”
